Notice of Referendum

THERE IS A REFERENDUM BEFORE THE VILLAGE BOARD
TO STOP THE SEASONAL RENTALS OF HOMES WITHIN THE VILLAGE AND TOWN. THIS WOULD MEAN THAT IF YOU WANTED TO RENT YOUR HOME ON A WEEKLY,MONTHLY OR SEASONALLY BASIS YOU WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THAT. THERE ISN'T A RESORT AREA IN AMERICA THAT DOESN'T ALLOW SEASONAL RENTALS OF PRIVATE HOMES. AS WE ALL KNOW NOT EVERYONE LIKES TO STAY IN A HOTEL ROOM OR CONDO.
I'M SURE THE VILLAGE BOARD IS BEING DRIVEN BY THE HOTEL OWNERS IN TOWN TO PUT THIS RESTRICTION INTO AFFECT. I BELIEVE THIS WILL AFFECT THE ECONOMY OF THE TOWN TO A GREAT EXTENT. DO YOU THINK THE HORSE SHOW PEOPLE WILL STAY IN A HOTEL ROOM???

WE ALL NEED TO BE AT THAT MEETING. PLEASE SPEAK TO ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT OWNS A HOME TO BE AT THAT MEETING. ONCE AGAIN THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS TRYING TO BE SLIPPED BY THE RESIDENTS OF OUR TOWN W/O ANYONE ADVISING US THE PEOPLE THAT IT IS COMING TO A VOTE. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF OUR RIGHTS AS HOME OWNER.

I'm very pleased with the efforts on the Hilton project. It has taken some thing like this to awaken the people of LP. There several other projects in and the village and town which also desevere attention. The Hurley Bros. 30,000 propane storage tank on Station St. The River Bend project off Station and Old Military Rd. The Zoning and Pannning boards both need to have closer supervision buy the Town and Village officals. The attorney fees from their actions need to be looked into.
